“After gaining a few months operating experience with the Ram Air Recovery System and the Aerodynamic Speed Stacks, I can now feel comfortable sharing the results with you.
I have found that the best way to obtain maximum performance is to use the cowls as the name implies, "pitot cowls", that is, to go as fast as possible in all flight regimes to maximize the ram air recovery. With the cowls, we can climb 10-15 knots faster and enjoy the same rate-of-climb through increased available torque.
At cruise in the mid-twenties, the airplane is about 18 knots faster. Whereas, I used to file for FL230 and 240, I now find myself filing for FL250 and 260 for longer flights. Before the modification, the airplane did not like to be above 250, as it was cruising so slow (relatively) that it felt mushy. Now it cruises with sufficient additional airspeed that the airplane is very comfortable at FL270.
The best part is that the airplane looks cool. Sitting on the ramp next to an unmodified Cheyenne (or especially a King Air), it looks faster. And, as we all know, an airplane that looks faster is faster.” Bruce A. Kaiser, Cheyenne II Owner/Pilot

"After adding the Ram Air Recovery System and Aerodynamic Speed Stacks I'm seeing between 14 to 16 knots in true airspeed improvement, plus the lower ITT's give me more available torque.
I couldn't be happier!" Tom Bryant, Businessman and Cheyenne II Owner/Pilot  Back to Top

"I just installed Speed Stacks and the Ram Recovery mod on my Cheyenne I; what an improvement!
On my first flight it was 102º and we had full fuel. As we climbed, we had a significant increase in available torque due to the decreased ITT's.
The increased speed and climb performance provided by American Aviation's mods is significant and very much appreciated. I am putting more space between the ground and myself quicker and I am getting where I want to go sooner."

"I purchased the Ram Air Recovery System and Aerodynamic Speed Stacks in 1997. Since installing these two items I've discovered that my engines seldom temp out. On a recent trip my max temp at top of climb was 670º... At FL230 my torque was 1000 lbs. (Book is 840). My calibrated airspeed was 163 knots (Book is 148). True airspeed was 242 knots (Book is 223).
This is typical of all trips in this ship. I have over 200 recorded trips with all power settings, altitudes and temps to verify the performance of these products.
These are the only mods I have ever bought for an airplane that work." Buck McClure, Businessman Cheyenne I Owner/Pilot
